Ever wonder about the magic behind a software or a website? TechLadies is bringing it's coding workshop to Malaysia! Piloted in Singapore, this coding workshop was taught to a sold-out crowd.

Join us at the TechLadies Coding Weekend to learn how to code and who knows, you may just fall in love with Computer Science!

TechLadies is a community for women to connect, learn and advance as programmers. You can find more information about us on our website: http://www.techladies.co/.

In this 2-day workshop, you will get your hands dirty by creating and designing your very own web application. Here’s a sneak peek at what you’ll be able to build after the weekend: https://tl-workshop-2.herokuapp.com/

You also will learn about basic Ruby programming concepts, how the web works, CSS/HTML and lastly, web development basics.

Your Coaches:

Grzegorz Witek
Grzegorz started using Ruby every day since his university days. Originally from Europe, Grzegorz is currently the lead developer at Kaligo where he builds a hotel-booking platform using Ruby and Elixir. Grzegorz is based in Singapore and has spoken at various Ruby conferences around Asia.

Chen Huijing
Hui Jing Chen is a self-taught designer and developer from Singapore. Reducing lines of code in her web projects make her extremely happy. Hui Jing is also the co-organiser of Talk.CSS, the first CSS-centric meetup in Singapore.

There will also be plenty of assistant coaches around to help answer any questions you have!

Who should come?
This workshop is designed for females age 17 and above. To qualify for a Students ticket, you will need to produce proof (i.e. a student card or ID) at the door.

How much does this cost?
To minimize no-shows, a small fee is required. As breakfast and lunch are provided, we will be unable to provide any refund.

What should I bring?
Please bring along a working laptop and charger. All kinds of laptops are fine as long as you have a browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) installed.

I’m not a woman, can I come?
As we are trying to improve the gender ratio of the tech industry, these workshops are only for women and those who identify as one. Should you no longer be able to attend, please transfer your ticket to a woman. Male attendees will, unfortunately, be turned away at the door.

If you have any questions, please drop Xin Tian an email at xintian@techladies.co.
